Before joining Graham Curtin, Mr. Cortese earned his Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law in 2015, graduating cum laude as an Executive Editor of the Syracuse Law Review. Before that, he attended the State University of New York, located in Binghamton, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in both Political Science and German language studies.
From 2015 to 2016, Mr. Cortese served as the law clerk to The Honorable Louis Sceusi, J.S.C., of the Morris-Sussex Vicinage in Morristown, New Jersey, handling matrimonial, non-dissolution, and domestic-violence matters. After his second year in law school, in 2014, Mr. Cortese worked as a legal intern at the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, Division of Law, in the Securities Fraud section, located in Newark, New Jersey. And during his final year in law school, from 2014 to 2015, he was a judicial extern to The Honorable Glenn T. Suddaby, Chief Judge of the Federal District Court for the Northern District of New York in Syracuse, New York, handling federal post-conviction relief and civil rights matters.
Mr. Cortese concentrates his practice in Graham Curtin’s Professional Liability Defense Group, while also handling some premises liability matters.
